HighPoint Recording Studios Policies and Procedures

At HighPoint Recording, we ascribe to the highest standards of business integrity.  It is our desire that every aspect of your project go smoothly from scheduling sessions to billing/payment.  We’ve found that the following guidelines help ensure that for everyone…

We require full payment of all incurred charges before final mixes, rough mix CD’s/cassettes, session files, etc., are released.

If you are late for a scheduled session, a 15-minute grace period is allowed for unavoidable delays.  Billing time during setup is calculated from the time the engineer begins setting microphones.

There is a minimum charge of one hour per session.  Sessions will be billed in fifteen-minute increments after the first hour.  Our studio time is in high demand.  Therefore, sessions canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be billed a 1-hour minimum or half the time of the session booked.

The final mix of your product is very much subject to your personal taste & preference.  Therefore, mix changes are the responsibility of the artist/producer.  We suggest that you budget time to take material out of the studio into environments familiar to you and include studio time for changes in the mix to suit your personal taste.

Your session will be archived on DVD-r, or CD-r storage (Pro Tools), or, ADAT tape (ADAT).  Although these systems are very reliable, any data transfer of files is subject to an extremely rare error.  We want to inform you of this and state that HighPoint Recording Studios cannot be held responsible for data transfer errors beyond our control.  We store many session files and master tapes on our premises as a convenience for our clients.  Ultimately, you are responsible for the care of your session files and masters.  We cannot guarantee the condition of your masters or session files over time.

We reserve the right to refuse to record anything we deem to be explicit, indecent or otherwise unbecoming of the standards of HighPoint Recording Studios.

Clients are responsible for any and all damage/theft caused by musicians or entourage.

HighPoint recording Studios does not allow smoking of any substance on its premises.

A $20.00 service charge is assessed for any returned check.

If lack of payment would necessitate legal action, you as the customer will be responsible for all incurred legal expenses and expenses in pursuant to collections of any and all outstanding moneys owed to or incurred by HighPoint Recording Studios.

Property will be subject to liens per materials and/or labor for all un-collectible moneys owed HighPoint Recording Studios per unpaid balances.

HighPoint Recording Studios will maintain all legal rights to retrieve any and all materials in pursuant of any outstanding balance moneys owed.

Masters left with unpaid balance will be disposed of without notice after six months.

Clients assume all risks associated with masters/dubs/artwork stored on the premises of HighPoint recording Studios and shall hold HighPoint harmless from any and all damage that might occur to said articles for any reason.  HighPoint’s liability shall be limited to the replacement cost of an unrecorded tape of comparable value.
